The Youngest Talented Baby: the Revelation

on April 20, 2012

Being a parent to a talented child is not easy. Gifted children grow up faster than others and it is a hard task keeping up with them. They go through their personal little challenges every day while you struggle to find out what is going on. You should never feel anything but proud if your child is gifted. When you have a gifted child, you have the responsibility to provide an appropriate environment where you nurture and develop the gifted mind of your child. Without the right parenting your child may not unlock hisher full potential. If you follow the typical ‘bringing up child’ books, it will not do your mush help as your child is gifted.

Signs of giftedness are not easy to spot but once you do it is your task to help them grow. Childs who have premature birth can also be gifted but their signs usually reveal in later stages. Most of them have developmental delays which restrains the signs. There are no fixed time for when such signs appear but many believe that it happens after they join school. In rare cases even infants show signs of giftedness. Gifted children tend to have behavioral problems and arrogance is one of them. You need to be patient with them and hard discipline is not an answer for this problem. Children who are highly gifted tend to show signs when they are in the third grade. Even though your child does not show any signs, does not mean that heshe is not gifted; not all children express signs. Once you find out that your child is gifted you have to be gentle with himher. You should always try to create opportunities for your child and never force your child to do something heshe does not want to do.
